I went to the big rally here in Winnipeg, organized to protest Focus on the Family's Love Won Out Conference. Their conference was all about what to do to help people get out of homosexuality. Eww. At any rate, I posted a bit about it and some photos in my personal journal, if you're interested in seeing how it went down:

“All Out Love” Rally

Rallying in opposition to a discriminatory anti-gay and lesbian conference from Focus on the Family.

Come show your support for true Canadian family values such as love and acceptance, and tell Focus on the Family that their policies of intolerance and persecution are unacceptable.

On Saturday, May 14th, let’s show Winnipeg that love truly “won out” – love and acceptance of oneself and others. Join the rally – bring your friends, family, pets, music, posters and yourself. As this will be a peaceful rally, we ask everyone attending to be respectful.

Meet at Club Desire (441 Main St.) at 10:30AM, before heading to Calvary Temple (400 Hargrave St.) for an 11:00AM rally that will run until 5:30PM. Coffee, juice and donuts will be provided by Club Desire.

The following groups have already pledged their support:

Applecart Collective
Canadians for Equal Marriage - Winnipeg & Manitoba Chapter
